Arkansas is host to Clean Coal Technology Conference

On July 17-18 the Clean Coal Technology Foundation of Texas participated in the Clean Coal Technology Conference held in Hope, Arkansas -- an event that generated enthusiastic crowds and plenty of support for a proposed new coal-powered unit in the state.

It was the first conference of this kind in the region, and featured a number of prominent speakers, including former House majority leader Dick Gephardt and southwest Arkansas Congressman Mike Ross.

Clean Coal Technology Foundation of Texas

The Foundation supports the work of the Governor’s Clean Coal Technology Council of Texas – both with a mission to promote the use and development of new technologies that will encourage the continued improvements in air emissions from Texas power producers.

The Foundation compiles state and federal data on air emissions, develops annual reports and regularly hosts conferences designed to bring industry, academia and state leadership . . . fostering collaborative efforts to encourage new technology.

The Foundation’s mission is to maintain reliable, affordable and environmentally responsible coal-fueled electric generation in the diverse portfolio of energy sources for Texas.
